Wow, thank you! This is an awesome explanation of guitar tab on the piano. I am very jealous of guitar players because I can only do a few chords and very basic, slow guitar tab. Still, I love the piano and I would love to take my favorite guitar songs and translate them over to the keys.

For an example, where are the corresponding keys on the piano for the 6 open stings of the guitar? All rights reserved. So what you get is an Am ukulele chord. This is still a major chord shape on a uke. You can make it minor, or 7th, or sus4, or anything else the exact same way you would on a guitar. The great thing about barre chords is they can be put anywhere, so for example, a major shape at one fret is still a major shape at any other.
Guitar players are pretty used to thinking about the various barre chord shapes as being major, minor, 7ths, or what have you, and just putting them at whatever fret they need them to produce the right chord. Because the top string on a ukulele G is thinner than the next, the uke lends itself to fingerpicking.
