Home server torrent

I followed the guide and uTorrent is installed on my windows home server and is working nicely. However I was wondering what the point of having the uTorrent installed into the console is.

I have the application running as if it were in windows 7, and it is down in my taskbar. When I put torrents into my folder that I have utorrent watching it then sends the command to either my console utorrent or my full app utorrent. Whats the point of having it in both places? I have problems instaling the utorrent as service. I hope there will be an update soon.

Have tried downloading within WHS but still do not get permission to install it. It states that Admininstrator has not set up rights for this account to do so. Have problem with the GUI on my web browser. Have tried Firefox, chrome and explorer.

I use the utorrent 1. I like to reach the preferences in utorrent to set up a scheduler so I only download at night. Any Idea? Can I do it someother way? Iam using the same setup in windows xp, but while restarting the system utorrent is behaving like crashed and reopen, its not having the download list which i have added already.

Actually my downloaded files get only full access for administrator group! Name required. Email required will not be published.

Windows Home Server is a home server operating system from Microsoft. It was announced on 7 January at the Consumer Electronics Show by Bill Gates, released to manufacturing on 16 July and officially released on 4 November Addeddate Identifier windows.

You can log into the server using the credentials of the user 'root' that you set during installation. This lets you easily drag and drop files into the remote server. Downloading and controlling torrents on the remote server is straightforward. But you can also use MLDonkey to seed your own torrents. The only real downside is that its interface isn't anything like those of the popular desktop torrent clients.

Once you get a hang of it though, you'll be able to appreciate its flexibility. To review its settings, head to its Advanced interface from the Control Panel. MLDonkey can also be controlled via its own set of commands, so you can also access the configuration option simply by entering 'sysinfo' in the text box in the main interface.

The default directories are listed at the bottom of the page. That directory houses all the configuration files for all the different protocols. I know WHS is probably the easiest option, but I've used it before on this board and it really seems overkill in some areas - plus i'd like the experience of doing it myself if anything.

Q2: Torrent programs? I'm guessing the web server is also a part of this as I wan't to be able to upload torrents remotely to start them off. I guess it could be as simple as setting uTorrent to run as a service and enable the webclient? Any other options? Why not try Ubuntu? It is light weight, relatively easy to setup also, and very light on resources. Not sure how to setup a webserver on Ubuntu, but for Torrents, all you need is Transmission, which can be controlled with a WebUI.
